Founded in 2022, Fifth Element Waterloo was born out of a simple idea — to bring people together through great food, good vibes, and a shared love for community. During the challenges of COVID, we started by helping our neighbours, cooking and sharing comforting meals when it mattered most. That spirit of connection is still at the heart of everything we do today.
The name “Fifth Element” comes from the ancient belief in the five elements of the world — earth, water, air, fire, and the fifth one that unites them all: spirit, or connection. That’s what we’re about — bringing everyone together around a table filled with authentic Italian flavours, handcrafted cocktails, and genuine hospitality.

About Our History
The First Restaurant in Waterloo London
Our journey started in the heart of Waterloo during the tough days of COVID. What began as a way to help our neighbours with good, homemade food quickly grew into something bigger — a place where community, comfort, and Italian flavours came together. The first Fifth Element was born, blending tradition with a modern twist and reminding everyone that food is about connection.
Our Second in Cleveland Street, Fitzrovia, London
Three years later, our story continues on Cleveland Street, where we’re bringing the same passion, flavour, and welcoming spirit to a brand-new space. The second Fifth Element builds on what we started — celebrating the Italian classics you love, elevated with our signature cocktails, vibrant energy, and that feeling of togetherness that defines the Fifth Element.
